As a Radar/Electronic Field Technician , you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of weather radar equipment used in forecasting and monitoring weather patterns. As part of your role, you will be required to travel both domestically and internationally to provide support for Baron Weather radars that have been installed across the world.
Responsibilities:
• Install, calibrate, and maintain weather radar equipment, including radar transmitters, receivers, antennas, and associated cabling and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in weather radar equipment, using specialized test equipment and tools.
• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on radar systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Monitor weather radar equipment and data in real-time, identifying and reporting any anomalies or issues.
• Collaborate with weather forecasters and other meteorological organizations to ensure accurate and timely weather forecasting.
• Maintain records and documentation related to weather radar equipment, maintenance, and repairs.
• Maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations and guidelines.
Requirements:
• Experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment.
• Strong technical knowledge of weather radar systems and associated equipment is desired.
• Familiarity with specialized test equipment and tools used in the maintenance and repair of weather radar systems.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and climb tall structures, up to 200 feet, if necessary.
• Must be able to complete a 2-day tower climbing certification training course.
• Must be able to use hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.
• Ability to travel throughout the United States and overseas.
• It is a requirement that the candidate be able to obtain a passport.
