Pharmacy School Assistant Professor, Non-Tenure Track -(240000NS )
Location: On-site at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, Baltimore, Maryland
The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy is conducting an open search for a School Assistant Professor, non-tenure track, in the Department of Practice, Sciences and Health Outcomes Research. This position requires teaching, service to the school, campus and the profession, and scholarly activity.
The position is a full-time, 12-month appointment based at our Baltimore campus. In addition to teaching, service, and scholarly activity this position will support research and training in AI/ML including conducting research, curriculum development, mentoring students, and collaborating with colleagues.
The University of Maryland, Baltimore campus houses schools of Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Social Work, Law, and Dentistry. The University of Maryland enjoys an excellent established record of accomplishment of successful collaboration for interprofessional practice and research collaborations with the other professional schools on campus.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
This position is responsible to the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Sciences, and Health Outcomes Research (P-SHOR). Teaching reporting responsibility is to the Chair of the Department through the Vice Chair for Education and the Director of AI/ML Program.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An earned Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) with a strong focus on engineering and artificial intelligence. Excellent communication skills are essential. Evidence of scholarship are preferred. Candidates should interact effectively with interdisciplinary collaborators and be eligible for appointment to the graduate faculty in order to teach and mentor graduate students.
Preferred experience related to teaching and/or creating master level curriculums.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Professional conduct in all dealings with students, faculty, or administration.
Communications - Knowledge of communication and dissemination techniques and methods.
This includes alternative ways to inform via written, oral, and visual media.
Education - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum design principals, evidence- based teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and knowledge of measurement and assessment.
Initiative - Willing and able to take on responsibilities and challenges.
Leadership - Willing and able to lead; take charge and offer opinions and direction.
Learning Strategies - Selecting and using instructional methods and procedures appropriate in the discipline family when learning or teaching new things.
Strong interpersonal abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with students, staff, faculty.
Monitoring - Monitoring/assessing curricula to make improvements or take corrective action.
Stress Tolerance - Ability to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations.

Salary Range: Base salary $120,000 - $165,000(Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience)
