The Network & Telecom Services Director leads and directs a Network & Communications team and is responsible for the planning, designing, engineering, testing, implementation, operation, extension, installation, repair, maintenance, improvement, and monitoring of a progressive, secure, and robust converged voice, video and data network infrastructure.

Hybrid opportunity based out of our Seattle, WA location.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES:

  • Information networks including voice (VoIP and TDM), data (wired and wireless) and all connectivity services.
  • Architect, implement, document, both the current state and future state of all networks that encompass Local and Wide area networks.
  • Resilient and highly available access to all Network and Telecommunications infrastructure including use of SD-WAN, FireWalls, WAN, LAN and wifi.
  • Selection, provisioning, implementation, and documentation of network hardware including, but are not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, wireless lan controllers, access points and connectivity to the cloud for high throughput workloads.
  • Facilitate problem-solving among administrative/clinical and research groups with varying needs and priorities, and to communicate well with end users, technical staff, and senior management.
  • Work with a range of technologies (Cisco and Juniper) and staff to develop joint and integrated solutions for the entire enterprise.
  • Actively participate in Network Services strategic planning and assessment processes.
  • Work with collegues and the leadership team to strategically plan for technology in line with the mission and goals of Fred Hutch.
  • Develop plans for and manage the implementation of projects to accomplish a seamless delivery of care.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Level of Autonomy:
    • Supervise, develop, and provide day-to-day direction to network manager and staff, including along with the CTO, annual performance reviews and updates of performance programs.
    • Coordinate and oversee the supervision of the contractors/consultants providing network services to the enterprise.
    • Hold regular staff meetings.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of seven years experience in Network Design after Bachelor's of Science degree.
  • Experience managing a team of network professionals.
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, voice, data, video, advance network technologies and management, network security, and wireless is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CCIE - Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert.
  • Master's degree preferred.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $149,282 to $248,768, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

This role will have the opportunity to work partially at our campus and remotely.

This position is eligible for a sign on bonus and relocation.
