PURPOSE
To improve student achievement by performing a variety of advanced journey level skilled work in the maintenance, construction and repair of buildings and equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Performs skilled journey-level building and grounds maintenance, repair, and/or installation work in the following areas of expertise:
•    Performs concrete work, asphalt repairs, gravel parking lot grading, playground repairs, flagpole service, chain link fencing and gate repairs, and electric gate operator repairs.
•    Operates a variety of hand tools, power tools, and outdoor power tools, including walk-behind and small riding mowers, power sweepers, chainsaws, and blowers. The operator performs general user maintenance on this                   equipment, including but not limited to:  greasing, blade changes, belts, fueling, and maintaining proper oil levels.
•    Operates large mowers and maintenance equipment.
•    Performs safety-conscious repair and maintenance of all playground areas and playground equipment.

QUALIFIED APPLICANT SHOULD POSSESS:
•    A strong knowledge and understanding of all ground’s construction and maintenance. 
•    General welding and cutting torch skills.
•    Ability to climb ladders and use lifts to work at roof heights and repair flag poles.
•    Good understanding of proper trailering and heavy equipment loading and securing on trailers.
•    Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift certification within 1 year of hire.
•    Ability to acquire the Playground Maintenance Technician Certification within 2 years of hire.
•    Recommended to obtain the Playground Safety Inspector Certification also within 2 years.
