Overview:

Headquartered in Birmingham, AL, our field operations are located throughout the Appalachian Basin in the states of Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. In 2021, Diversified announced our expansion into our Central Regional Focus Area, which includes producing areas within Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

Responsibilities:

The EH&S Specialist-Safety will report to the Safety Manager.

 

  • Special focus will be placed on:
  • Maintains a strong bias for action and field presence.
  • Provide EH&S support to assigned assets, corporate programs and projects.
  • Perform field visits, inspections, training, and project management.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to field operations and operations leaders.
  • Perform field visits to verify data, work with operations to attain compliance, respond to agency inquires.Solves problems with creative solutions to produce significant results.Performs primarily self-directed in area of responsibility.
  • Proactively support and/or leads EH&S initiatives that support the business and the organization's themes and corporate strategies.
  • Contribute to and influences team priorities as a strong team member or leader.
  • Seeks the ideas and opinions of others. Encourages and motivates teams to accomplish results.

  • Successfully mentors operations in safety and environmental matters.
  • Good working knowledge of spill clean-up regulations, policies and procedures with the ability to respond in a timely manner to help operations evaluate, mitigate, and remediate spills.
  • Application of knowledge of SPCC, GPP, HWCP, PPC, SWPPP and SPRP plans as necessary to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Make recommendations after anticipating work/project requirements and considers business impact and risks.
  • Writing and developing Rig inspection and maintenance program.
  • Writing and developing Wireline inspection and maintenance program.
  • Writing and developing pressure pumping inspection and maintenance program.
  • Specific training program for employees performing work on rigs, wireline, and pressure pumping equipment.
  • Implementing hourly tracking matrix program for all critical equipment components.
  • Implementing an annual inspection program for all critical components.
  • Attain certification to be able to perform inspections up to level 3 on rigs and other equipment.
  • Work to standardize and launch digital safety and environmental program; JSA, stop work, near miss, etc..Use leading indicators as basis for monthly and quarterly training by rig and crew.
  • Bridge the gap from DEC and NLE and standardize safety and environmental programs to ensure consistency and no overlap.
  • Maintain ISN and Veriforce compliance
  • Interface with external clients on safety and environmental standards of NLE to qualify NLE to work for larger clients
Qualifications:

 

  • 3 years of oil and gas experience with safety and environmental responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health, Safety, or related discipline is desired.
  • Safety-focused coursework is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of oil and gas operations and implications for compliance with environmental, health and safety laws.
  • Understanding of oil and gas operations, including equipment nomenclature and typical usage.
  • Effective project management, business writing, presentation, training and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Have both environmental and safety experience.
  • Be an ASP, CSP, CHSO or have a safety certification, or be in the process to become certified.
  • Have direct experience with incident investigations and corrective action development.
  • Spill management and cleanup experience.
  • Safety training and presentation skills experience Values-Driven safety experience Have experience directly supporting field operations
