Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Development and Finance Manager to help advance our organization's mission by leading financial operations and driving development efforts. This role is ideal for someone with a keen interest in nonprofit financial management and fundraising who can work independently, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

As Development and Finance Manager, you'll play a key part in ensuring the financial health of our organization while fostering relationships with donors and supporters. Your work will directly impact the sustainability and growth of our mission.

Key Responsibilities

Development:
- Design and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure funding from individuals, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
- Manage relationships with donors, including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Organize and coordinate fundraising events and campaigns to align with the organization's goals.
- Prepare and submit grant proposals, managing reporting requirements as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of donations, pledges, and donor communications through our donor management system.

Finance:
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for leadership.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and banking activities.
- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget.
- Coordinate annual audits with external auditors and implement audit recommendations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 4-6 years of experience in nonprofit financial management and fundraising.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in financial management software and donor management systems.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Compensation:
- Full-Time (On-site in Boston, MA): $65,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on experience.
- Part-Time (Remote Eligible): $25 - $35 per hour, depending on experience.

- Full-Time: On-site in Boston, with standard working hours.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for fundraising events.
