Hourly Rate: $20 per hour

Employment Type: Part-Time, Temporary

Duration: August 2024 - November 2024

Hours: 8 hours per week (Two 4-hour shifts)

Job Overview:

The Creston Neighborhood Association is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Canvassers. This position is crucial for engaging with our community, promoting voter participation, and ensuring our neighborhood's voices are heard. Canvassers will work part-time on contract from August through November, performing outreach and providing essential voter information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Community Outreach: Engage with community members door-to-door, providing information on voter registration, absentee ballot applications, and election details.
• Voter Education: Educate residents about the importance of voting and their voting options, ensuring they have the resources they need to participate in upcoming elections.
• Data Collection: Track and report interactions with community members, including the number of voters registered, pledge cards collected, and absentee ballot applications assisted with.
• Event Participation: Represent the Creston Neighborhood Association at community events to further promote voter engagement and distribute educational materials.
• Feedback Gathering: Collect feedback from residents regarding their needs and concerns to help improve our outreach efforts.

Qualifications:

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with diverse community members.
• Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, approachable, and able to build rapport quickly.
• Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately record and report outreach activities.
• Motivation: Self-motivated, with a genuine interest in community engagement and voter participation.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Availability: Must be available for two 4-hour shifts per week, with flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience in canvassing, community outreach, or related fields is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with the Creston neighborhood and its residents is advantageous.
