Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Online Ground School Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI), Certificated Flight Instructor Instrument (CFI-I), Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI), or hold an Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI) or Instrument Ground Instructor (IGI) certification. This role involves delivering engaging ground school lessons, conducting topical tutoring sessions, and providing mock oral exams to prepare students for the oral portion of their checkrides. This is a fully remote position, making it ideal for flight instructors looking to supplement their income.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Ground School Lessons: Deliver comprehensive online ground school instruction for Private, Commercial, and Instrument ratings, ensuring alignment with FAA standards and requirements.
Provide Topical Tutoring Sessions: Offer targeted tutoring sessions on specific subjects or areas where students need additional support, including but not limited to regulations, navigation, meteorology, and aerodynamics.
Administer Mock Oral Exams: Conduct practice oral exams to help students prepare for the oral portion of their checkrides, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
Create and Share Educational Materials: Develop and share relevant study materials, including practice questions, explanations, and resources to support student learning.
Offer Personalized Support: Tailor instruction and feedback to the individual needs of each student, fostering an encouraging and supportive learning environment.
Track Student Progress: Monitor and document student progress, providing regular updates and recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications:
Certifications: Must hold at least one of the following certifications: CFI, CFI-I, MEI, AGI, or IGI.
Experience: Proven experience in flight instruction or ground school teaching, with a strong understanding of the Private, Commercial, and Instrument rating requirements.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with online teaching tools and platforms, including video conferencing software, digital whiteboards, and learning management systems.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students and provide personalized support.
Commitment: Reliable and dedicated, with a strong commitment to helping students achieve their aviation goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with creating online educational content and resources.
Familiarity with various ground school curricula and exam preparation materials.
