Job Description

Position Summary
This position manages facilities operations in our Baseline Tennis Center which includes 10 indoor courts-12 outdoor courts, locker rooms and club room spaces.  Assist with all aspects of facilities operations- including maintenance of the facility, custodial oversight, event preparation and assist with preparation and supervision of tennis events.  Work with Assoc. AD to identify and implement facility projects.

Essential Functions 

1. Facilities Operations (70%)
a. Primary contact for daily facility operations and maintenance for Baseline Tennis Center.
b. Contribute to development of the facility operating budget and monitor monthly expenditures.
c. Develop work plans to prepare the facilities for daily and event usage including training and oversight of custodial operations.  
d. Responsible for building maintenance, coordinating physical plant work orders, event preparation, and monitoring and inspections of student staff. 
e. Work with the Assoc AD-Facilities Operations, to identify capital needs and repair/replacement projects and develop long/short term goals for facility improvements. Coordinate repair and replacement projects including project expenditures for Baseline Tennis Center.
f. Management of part time student employees- including hiring, training and annual evaluations while following the Universities policies and procedures.
g. Educate and train Athletes Village coaches and on daily life safety plans and emergency procedures for the complex.  
h. This position will assist with oversight of preventative maintenance and emergency repairs for the facilities listed above while working with Athletic Facilities staff, Facilities Management, and outside contractors to keep our facilities updated and successfully maintained.
i. This position will coordinate the rental of equipment needed for building maintenance and repair to include but not limited to high lifts.
j. Oversee and manage all supply ordering and purchasing for the facility while following proper University and departmental procedures and protocols.

k. Operating a computer is an essential function of the job.

2. Events Operations (30%)
a. Assist in assigning part time staff to provide facility coverage at all events held in the facility.
b. Prepare and provide supervision related to Gopher Tennis matches, USTA Tournaments and other special events.

Personnel Responsible For:
1. Part time staff of fifteen (15) Student Laborers 
a. Assist all aspects with the hiring of 15 part time student employees. 
b. Properly train students on all custodial and facility-related tasks to be completed. 
c. Conducts performance evaluations on all part time employees to communicate expected levels of performance.

Environmental Conditions: 

Working indoors 90% of time and outdoors 10% of time. 

Exposure to temperatures below 32 degrees and above 90 degrees. 

Exposure to noise.

Annual Salary: $44,000-$48,000. This position is eligible for overtime pay. 

Required Qualifications:
1. BA/BS in Sports Management/related field or 4 years of experience in sports facilities operations.
2. Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays based on facility events.

Preferred Qualifications:
1.   MA/MS in Sports Management or related field
2.   2 years of athletic facility experience at a Power 5/FBS College/University/Professional sports
3.   Experience with facility software scheduling platforms.

Physical Requirements: 

Lift and carry 10-25 lbs frequently, and up to 40 lbs occasionally
